WHO WE ARE & OUR MISSION

We are a company dedicated to permaculture and tropical garden design, located in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Caña Dulce emerged with a clear purpose of leaving a positive impact on the soil. Our aim is to prove that, despite the inevitable progress, it is still possible to do so in a responsible and caring/conscious way. We believe in the need of being in harmony with the ecosystem. Every project we undertake is both an opportunity and a challenge to show how urban development can coexist in harmony with nature.

From residential gardens to community projects, we design spaces which reflect our passion for the land and our commitment to a long-term sustainability.

We understand permaculture as a way to reconnect with the Earth. By combining biodynamic principles, rooted in the teachings of Rudolf Steiner about regenerative farming practices, we nurture and revitalize the soil that sustains us.

Biodynamics teaches us to perceive the vast web of interconnections between the Earth, plants, animals and the cosmic dimension, working together in harmony with natural rhythms. Apart from regenerative farming, our aim is to maintain and improve soil health and fertility, increase biodiversity, and combat climate change by giving back to the land more than we take from it.

Through our services, we invite you to discover how these principles can be applied in a straigthforward yet powerful way, creating spaces which both nourish and regenerate the soil while promoting a healthier and more connected environment.

Our Method

  • 1. Consultation & Assestment

    Walk and Talk

    We begin with a visit to your space in order to observe its unique features and your needs, capturing and integrating your vision into a sustainable and functional design.

  • 2. Design & Planning

    We transform ideas into a detailed project which combines creativity with sustainability. At this stage, we incorporate permaculture principles, harmony with nature, and resource optimization.

  • 3. Design Proposal

    We present a customized design which blends your desires with the needs of the environment. It includes planning, plant selection, and implementing the details.

  • 4. Installation

    Let’s get started!

    Once approved, our team brings the plan to life. At this stage, we make sure that every structure and system thrives from the very beginning.

  • 5. Maintenance

    We offer the possibility of ongoing maintenance so that your garden not only stays vibrant but also keeps on evolving and improving over time.

    This service is available for both our own projects and external ones.
